These couplers are 3/4”npt with 1/2”npt bushings installed. They can be used on 1/2” hoses as is or 3/4” hoses by removing the bushings.
Locking ring has ball detent to prevent accidental disconnection. Simply rotate the locking ring to secure the fitting.
