Incredible Vintage Extra Heavy Weighted Hand Made Romel Reins 2.75 Lbs. MUST SEE.
These are absolutely incredible hand done top quality romel reins. I am sorry I do not know the artisan that made these perhaps someone will recognize the work. I purchased these to show my western purebred Arabian back in the 90s, and they were preowned at the time I purchased them so I am unsure as to the date they were crafted. The braiding on these is incredible. They have three very heavy covered weights with the center weighing the heaviest to have them drape beautifully. They do not have silver but I never felt the need to add it as I think they are gorgeous as is. That said, silver could be added by the buyer if desired. My Arab gelding was virtually undefeated using these reins. At one point we won 27 consecutive classes. These heavy reins gave him quite literally the perfect headset. He passed away quite some time ago at 24, but I held onto these reins in case I purchased another western horse. I have since had two shoulder replacements, retired my English horse, and it looks unlikely I will return to the show ring. These reins deserve a new owner that will get as much enjoyment from them as I did.
From the junction of where the reins split to the end of the popped measures approximately 50 inches. The popper measures approximately 12 inches. The reins themselves measure at approximately 48-50 inches. Total length approximately 98-100 inches.
