DESCRIPTION: For sale is an original vintage 1940's TRU-BLU BEER and ALE serving tray.  This tray is made of rolled tin sheet metal.  The lithograph design has bold blue green letters with the Tru-Blu Beer and Ale brand over a pale-yellow background.  There is also the Northampton Brewery logo and motto "
Famous Old Brew of the Pennsylvania Dutch".
The rim is painted blue green.  The base is black.  The Northampton Brewery was in business in
Northampton, PA from 1898 to 1920 and then again from 1933 to 1950.  This tray is most likely from the latter period.
There is manufacturer identification but it was most likely made by the Continental Can Co.
This serving tray is approximately 13 inches in diameter across the top rim and 1-1/8 inches tall.
It weighs 15 ounces.
CONDITION: This original, vintage tray is in good used condition.  The graphics are clear and intact.  The paint is lightly oxidized and faded from age.  There are light scuffs and scrape wear consistent age and use.  Notice that the lithograph design can be seen on the bottom of the tray. Not sure why but perhaps exposure to background gamma rays!  Please see photographs.
